When it comes to selecting one of the entry-level models elliptical trainers, it is important to remember that you are getting a very cheap product. While most entry-level models fall well under the $1000 price range, the NordicTrack ASR 630 definitely falls in this category. This particular model features a rear drive elliptical wheel and a very small stride length. The motor is cheaply constructed but the resistance is controlled by what is known as an SMR or silent magnetic resistance. This will allow you to adjust the intensity of the workout while at the same time helps to reduce the noise output of this device. The maximum user capacity of this model is 275 pounds but I really would not suggest exceeding 250 pounds.

The quality of the construction is very poor, but what else can be expected of an entry-level elliptical trainer. There’s also a very noticeable world the noise irregardless of the patented technology utilized in this device while at the same time the actual smoothness of the device is not all that good either. You are also able to max out the resistance levels with ease and when it comes to choosing user programs you only have six of them to choose from. About the only pro that anyone can give about this particular model is that is readily available just about anywhere. That’s saying something, when the only thing good that you can say about a product is that it’s highly available. With regards to the bad parts about the NordicTrack ASR 630, you’ll find that there are just way too many moving parts which lead to a lot of vibration and noise. Furthermore, the quality is less than satisfactory as a result of all of these issues.

However, you have to keep in mind that this is in fact an entry-level model offered by Nordictrack elliptical trainers. As a result of it being in an entry-level model this means that the price will be very low, the number of benefits and features will also be low, but most of all the quality in construction is low.

You have to keep in mind though, that while most that can be said about this fitness equipment is bad, if you do not have the funds to buy any the more expensive elliptical trainers currently available on the market but are still in need of one, then this one may be right for you. You just have to remember that you do get what you pay for and since you are not paying for a lot you are definitely not getting a lot.
